Oscar Silio and Alyssa Kaszycki, students in Dr. Webb's personality research lab, presented their research in a poster session at the 8th Annual River City Industrial/Organizational Psychology Conference in Knoxville, Tennessee. Their poster, “What Does Your Smartphone Reveal About Your Personality?” earned an Honorary Mention. They examined how the content and usage patterns of targets’ smartphones are associated with various dimensions of personality. They found evidence that individuals tend to leave more reliable and strong indicators of their extraversion and openness, but fewer indicators of agreeableness, neuroticism, and conscientiousness.
