First year graduate student Samantha Harris gave a presentation regarding her thesis plans on April 29th. Her thesis will examine the relationship between dark triad personality traits and lying behavior. Samantha says previous studies on lying behavior have focused on self-report measures, which may not tell the full story. Her thesis, entitled "Would I lie to you? Deceptive behavior and the dark triad,” will rectify this by employing a direct behavioral task wherein participants have the opportunity to deceive one another for self gain. Samantha is mentored by Dr. Andrew Smith.
