Dr. Andrew Smith presents talk on affect and the desirability bias

Dr. Andrew Smith gave a talk on campus regarding his work exploring the role of affect in the desirability bias on January 29th. The talk was titled “Happy or Sad, but Still Biased: Incidental Mood Does Not Moderate the Desirability Bias." As the title suggests, Dr. Smith’s research indicates that individuals are equally affected by the desirability bias, regardless of their current relative happiness or unhappiness. Dr. Smith’s talk was given as part of a seminar course offered as part of the masters of experimental psychology program.
