Graduate student Tyler Erath gives presentation on work-related stress levels in direct care workers

Second year graduate student Tyler Erath presented the results of his thesis research on Friday March 4th. Tyler’s thesis is entitled “An investigation of the variables affecting stress experienced by staff supporting individuals with intellectual disability.” According to his research, psychological flexibility is related to both psychological distress and job satisfaction in direct care staff working with intellectually disabled individuals. Additionally, Tyler’s research suggests that it would be worthwhile to develop a measure of psychological flexibility specifically designed for direct care staff, in order to better identify staff members who would benefit from stress management intervention. Tyler is mentored by  Dr. Cynthia Anderson.

Tyler prepared to give his presentation.
