Second-year graduate student, Kat Hardin, gives presentation on thesis plans

Second-year graduate student, Kat Hardin, gave a presentation regarding her thesis plans on February 17th.  Her thesis works to tie together three prominent themes in the depression, cognitive, and rumination literature.  First, depression is associated with increased habitual rumination.  Second, depression is associated with cognitive deficits.  Lastly, rumination is associated with similar cognitive deficits.  To integrate these theories, Kat is testing the effects of rumination on verbal working memory and recruiting participants with varying degrees of depressive symptoms.  Kat is mentored by Dr. Lisa Emery.
